OCCLUTECH PLD DEVICE (DEVICE FOR CLOSING PERIVALVULAR LEAKAGE)
It is intended for patients with perivalvular leakage associated with hemolysis, periodic blood transfusions, or hemodynamically significant heart failure, who are at increased risk for surgical intervention after a surgeon’s recommendation or as an alternative to surgical procedures with shorter operating times and recovery periods.
Based on the characteristics of nitinol, the products are “self-forming” after release from the case. Depending on the size of the PLD device, the threads or bags of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) are combined into discs, which guarantees better closure of perivalvular leaks. Depending on the size of the implant, cases ranging from 6F to 9F are used.
